With guidance from your tutor, you will learn a range of techniques including how to pierce, heat, form, texture, hammer, solder, stamp, emboss, file, polish and finish metal. You will make a silver round or oval soldered bangle with a 1-2 decorative mixed metal charms. You will learn how to size and make a silver bangle and create decorative dangling charms after making several test pieces in aluminium that explore how to work with metal.

 

All materials are included in the cost of this workshop including silver to make the bangle – additional silver also can be purchased on the day. Tea, coffee and refreshments are also included. The workshop is fun and informative, and no previous experience is needed.\

With guidance from your tutor, you will learn how to heat metal and form a flat sheet by blocking/sinking using a specialist hammer and sandbag. You will then learn how to form the metal as much or little as you wish to create a bowl that is truly unique. Finally when you reach your desired shape you will learn how to planish the piece to give a lovely even hammered surface.\

Learn how to create beautiful pieces of jewellery using Silver Art Clay in this one day silver jewellery workshop at Studio Budgie. Silver Art Clay feels like porcelain clay to work with and when fired turns into fine silver. Fine particles of pure silver are mixed with a non toxic organic binder; when fired the binder burns away leaving a silver piece that can be hallmarked as fine silver.\
With guidance from Helen, you will learn the technical skills required to roll, texture, and cut Silver Art Clay into a beautiful pendant or earrings; you will also learn how to fire, burnish, polish and finish your piece to a high standard.
